We Continue to Survive…

Ancient stories tell of the lush beauty of Xaefaria long past; blissful oceans and dense forests, with an abundance of water and food. The invaders took that from us. They came to plunder our resources after killing their own world, and the whole of Xaefaria mounted a counter strike. Much is lost in the sands of time. We do know the resulting war led to the desertification and near destruction of all Xaefaria. Our technology, our society, our very culture, gone. But we, we continue to survive.

Each dying society has its festering wounds; each revolution, its reluctant heroes. Listen closely while I share with you: The Xaefarian Tales.

Duane is now available for commissions.

Meet the Creators

They don’t work well together building IKEA furniture, nor navigating busy streets, but they form a powerful team in creative endeavors.

Duane Nichols

Duane Nichols

artist & co-writer

From five years old, Duane Nichols had a passion for drawing. As soon as he could read, he was enjoying comics off the spinner rack and exploring his older brother’s comic collection. Seeing prominent artists vacate their jobs at Marvel and DC in the 90’s to start their own company inspired Duane to pursue a career in comics. He studied at the Minneapolis College of Art & Design under the tutelage of professional comic artists before endeavoring to create his own graphic novel space opera.

Crystal Nichols

Crystal Nichols

writer

Having grown up in the shadows of the Chugach Mountains, with a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Crystal Nichols uses her visual arts experience to inform her written artistry, recognizing the written word as an intellectual practice in painting with words to craft emotionally compelling stories that capture elegance and humanity within sci-fi, mythopoeia, and fantasy genres.
